Emotion Recognition Project

Previous research has shown that certain traits such as anxiety, aggression, and emotional intelligence are related to the ability to understand what another person is feeling, an important component of empathy. This ability is also influenced by both attentional mechanisms and the physical response one has when seeing another individual experience happiness, sadness, pain, or any other number of emotions. In our project, we integrate these ideas to examine how eye gaze patterns, physiology, and personality trait measures relate to accurate emotion recognition.
